As an engineer, teacher and now Partnership & Education Manager at Beci, Fabrice Goffinet builds bridges between the business world, schools and continuing education.

‘Learning and passing on knowledge,’ is how he sums it up simply. For Fabrice Goffinet, who joined Beci last September, these two terms are one and the same. Originally trained as a civil engineer, he enriched his career with management and marketing studies at Solvay, followed by a course in sustainability at Cambridge. For the past fifteen years, he has been teaching at EPHEC, where he introduces students to building business models, financial plans and the basics of sustainable IT.

Fabrice first joined the Beci team with a commercial mission: to develop partnerships. Since July, his role has expanded to include education, a field that suits him perfectly. ‘My job is to strengthen the synergies between the economic world we represent and our social advancement centres, EPFC and CVO Semper. The aim is for these schools to become more effective drivers of talent development leading to employment.’

In practice, this involves a twofold approach: supporting people in their search for skills suited to the job market and helping companies find the profiles they need. Beci also fulfils this mission through its involvement in EULEP, a European project bringing together eighteen partners from eight countries, which aims to make continuing education more accessible and more relevant to the realities of the workplace. ‘The idea is to develop educational materials on topics such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and change management related to the introduction of new technologies,’ explains Fabrice. In Belgium, Beci and CVO Semper are working hand in hand on this project.

Fabrice sees this as a logical extension of his own experience: ‘I'm convinced that a lot can be achieved through training, not only in terms of professional skills, but also citizenship and social cohesion.’ Through EULEP and its work with schools, Beci is affirming its role as a bridge between talent and businesses. Fabrice Goffinet, with his perspective as an engineer, teacher and partner, embodies this dynamic.
